Wudewasa, published by KEHRER, 2016 with texts by Andreas Bee and Bruce E. Phillips
ISBN: 978-3868287004, 96 pages
This publication presents two ongoing series of performative works:
First, a series of performances by a figure in foliate masks constructed for a single image. Each image is composed at the threshold between the familiar and the unfamiliar, on the edge of urban space. Second, a series of full 'wildman' disguises processing the mythology of devils, fools and carnival figures as a means of navigating boundaries and transgressing natural laws. Such disguises and intentional awkward positioning reflect the boundaries of myth and folklore, an imaginary but universal realm.
