Let Thy Seed Possess the Gate of Those Which Hate, 2011
Series of Portraits created during a residency at the Aberystwyth Art Centre. The images are of men wearing the traditional Welsh women’s folk costume. The portraits refer to the Rebecca Riots, a series of protests enacted by farm labourers and agricultural workers against excessive tolls across Wales in the early 1840s. The protestors were often dressed as women.
